Jimalalud National High School previously named Jimalalud Municipal High School was established on June 1994. It was a pet project of Mayor Reynaldo V. Tuanda, Governor Emilio C. Macias II and the former Congressman Jerry Paras. It started its operation with 234 students and 2 pioneer teachers namely Mrs. Jiji S. Taladua and Mrs. Renelda D. Espinas.
Two classrooms from the Jimalalud Central School served as our first classrooms. The absence of equipment, instructional materials, furniture and fixtures and even school buildings did not prevent us to continue serving the high school population. With a strong leader, Mayor Reynaldo Tuanda in collaboration with Gov. Emilio C. Macias II, the first 4-cl makeshift building was constructed in the school site purchased by the Municipality of Jimalalud. In November 15, 1994, we formally inaugurated our first school building and conducted classes in the school we named Jimalalud Municipal High School.
Every year additional facilities, instructional materials and teachers were added through the support of our local government officials, the teachers and the very supportive parents. JMHS continues to grow every year until it was finally recognized and renamed JIMALALUD NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL.
Presently, JNHS opened a night class to accommodate working students. It has student population of 1076, 26 nationally paid teachers manage by a school principal.
JNHS is a recipient of special programs such as the SBP of the Secondary Development Improvement Project (SEDIP) and PROBE-HIP Project.
With the holistic approach implemented by the school, strong student leaders emerged, entrepreneurs were developed, culture, arts and sports are embedded in the hearts of the students aside from their academic accomplishments.
With the unending support extended by our local chief executive JNHS will continue to produce wholistic and productive students.
